Zacapa 23 years old Solera is a rum from Guatemala made according to the technique called "solera". It is the result of a blend of añejos, old and sweet rums. Its very long aging hides the alcoholic note, allowing a real explosion of aromas and flavors. The barrels used are ex-bourbon barrels of American sherry or Pedro Ximenez and the blend consists of rums aged 6 to 23 years.
This rum is easily recognized thanks to its coating of royal palm leaves braided by hand.
In wooden box, this rum is accompanied by 6 wooden coasters! A very nice gift idea.
Nose: Notes of wood and honey.
Taste: Smooth, with a light and discreet fruity note.
Finish: Moderately long, while remaining simple and fresh.
The creation of Zacapa rum is intimately linked to the soil of Guatemala, to its tropical climate but also to the geographical location of the distillery on volcanic plains. This set gives the sugar cane exceptional qualities. The cold air provided by the landscape gives it a slow aging, leaving to the Zacapa rum, the time of development all the subtleties of its pronounced character. But, altitude is not enough, Lorana Vasquez, cellar master, uses a unique Solera system. aging process to produce Zacapa.
