THE BRAND
Williams & Humbert, a famous sherry wine producer, innovated by refining rum under its Dos Maderas brand, meaning “two woods” in Spanish. They buy rums aged for five years in 200 liter bourbon barrels, from Barbados and Guyana, before repatriating them to Spain. The two types of rum are then blended and aged again in high quality barrels that previously contained Pedro Ximénez Don Guido or Palo Cortado Dos Cartados, aged for over 20 years.

Dos Maderas is a premium rum brand owned by Bodegas William & Humbert S.A., founded in 1877. It stands out for its blend of rums from Barbados and Guyana. The rums from Barbados, light and refined, are combined with those from Guyana, which are more robust and fruity. After an initial aging of 5 years in their countries of origin, the rums are further aged in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, in casks that previously contained Palo Cortado and Pedro Ximénez. This double aging imparts the rum with a rich aromatic profile, combining sweetness, spices, and dried fruits, making it a reference among premium rums.
