Lagavulin is a Scotch whisky distillery founded in 1816 by John Johnson on the Isle of Islay, off the coast of Glasgow. Nestled between the iconic Ardbeg and Laphroaig distilleries, it enjoys a prime location at the heart of Islay’s legendary peated whisky region.The name Lagavulin, pronounced La-ga-voolin in Gaelic, means “the mill in the valley.” Now owned by the Diageo group, this historic Scottish distillery operates year-round to meet the high global demand for its iconic expressions, especially the renowned Lagavulin 16 Year Old.
