The PLANTATION Rum Black Cask is a blend of molasses from Barbados and Cuba, distilled both in a column still and a pot still. It is then double aged in barrels, first for several years in its country of origin, and then for a few more years in small heavily toasted casks in Cognac. The final product is reduced to 40% ABV, lightly filtered, and then bottled.

Nose: Intense and rich, with initial notes of cooked banana and vanilla, followed by notes of coconut, coffee and almond with a hint of citrus. The olfactory profile then becomes fresher and honeyed.
Palate: Beautiful richness, dominated by pastry notes, plum, apricot and date, accompanied by milk chocolate, nutmeg and vanilla. There are also toasted notes of praline and a nice woody note.
Finish: Notes of tonka bean and a touch of cinnamon, underscored by a smoky note.
The rums in the Plantation range come from the best distilleries in the Caribbean (Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama or Trinidad). The Plantation rum collection is divided into two distinct ranges: blends and vintages. The blends are assemblies refined by the cellar master of the Ferrand house. The vintages, whose tastes are different from one vintage to another, come directly from the cask and are available in limited quantities.
Planteray is a rum brand founded in 1996, originating from Martinique, and is part of the island's agricole rums. The distillery was established by enthusiasts eager to produce an exceptional rum, focusing on the quality of the locally grown sugarcane. This rum is crafted using the traditional Martinique method, utilizing pure sugarcane juice rather than molasses, which gives it a distinct aromatic richness. The history of Planteray is marked by a desire to reinvent rum traditions while respecting the local heritage.
