The Black Mountain adventure began in 2011 with the ambition to create a distillery on the edge of the Montagne Noire, in the Haut Languedoc Regional Natural Park. While awaiting the construction of their distillery, the team started producing blended whiskies by importing whiskies distilled in the United Kingdom and finishing them in France in Armagnac casks. The first whisky aged at Black Mountain spends 12 months in Armagnac casks, and another, aged 8 years, is finished for 6 months. This method imparts their whiskies with remarkable freshness, expressiveness, and complexity. These products have been repeatedly awarded on the international stage.
Black Mountain also uses the pure water of the Montagne Noire to refine their whiskies, adding a unique local touch. The brand continues to combine traditional craftsmanship with innovation, offering unique tasting experiences for whisky enthusiasts.
