Papa Rouyo
Papa Rouyo is a new wave of artisanal rum producers in Guadeloupe, rooted in heritage and driven by innovation. Located in the town of Goyave, this micro-distillery was founded by a collective of local sugarcane growers to honor the legacy of Charles Albert Ruscade, affectionately known as "Papa Rouyo".
Focused on craftsmanship and respect for the land, Papa Rouyo distills its rums in traditional pot stills, a rare method in the Caribbean, using mature sugarcane grown on the island’s rich volcanic soils. The result is a line of bold, expressive agricultural rums that capture the soul of Guadeloupe.
Standout expressions include Le Rejeton, a fresh, vibrant white rum; Sanblaj, a carefully aged blend with finesse; and Vwayaj, a tribute to the diversity of sugarcane varietals. Papa Rouyo offers a unique tasting journey rooted in terroir, authenticity, and passion.
