SAINT JAMES 2006 - Ephémère 6 - 54,4%
The Saint James distillery has launched a vintage quadrilogy called "Les Ephémères".
The Saint James Ephémères N°6 is the third edition of this limited series, aged for 16 years under tropical climate in the cellars of Sainte Marie. It is presented in a black bottle, with a limited edition of 4910 bottles that have not been subjected to reduction or blending.
The choice of the black bottle was made to highlight the gentle filtration, which ensures preserved flavors, and to emphasize the "Grands Crus" range of the distillery. This complex and balanced rum presents roasted and spicy nuances.
It was placed in 200-liter American oak barrels on December 12th, 2006.
Colour: Dark Mahogany
Nose: Reveals a remarkable aromatic richness, despite a high degree, without being aggressive.
Palate: The attack is seductive thanks to the delicate aroma of walnut kernels. The old wood provides a solid base and evolves towards spicy and cocoa notes. The attack is warm with a pronounced presence of wood. The spices give balance to the whole, and then give way to notes of candied fruits, reminiscent of a high-quality eau-de-vie
THE BRAND
The first rums distilled in the Trou Vaillant estate in Martinique were exported to North America under the name of Saint James rum in 1765. Paulin Lambert bought the estate and registered the Saint James brand in 1882 with its famous square bottle. Operated on several sites and known for having supplied the soldiers during the First World War, Saint James was taken over by Cointreau in 1973, which brought together the activities on the Sainte Marie site.
