PLANTATION RUM Jamaica Clarendon MMW 1994 Conquest of the Maison Ferrand comes from the distillery that produced the Monymusk rum. After a tropical ageing of 25 years in ex-bourbon cask, it underwent two complementary maturations, one year , first in Ferrand cognac barrels, then in 1840 cognac barrels of the same house. It has an ester rate of between 200 and 300 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol. Honeyed, fruity, this rum also has a very Jamaican empyreumatic accent.
Very limited series.
Nose: Fine, powerful, delicate, with notes of honey, medicinal, camphor and spicy.
Taste: Lively, powerful, empyreumatic, hot tar, tobacco, banana flambée.
Finish: Very long, smooth, with exotic fruits, quince jelly. Superb.
Long, suave. Evocative of the skin of a white peach, the beginning of the finish is velvety. Rarely has quince jelly been so well transcribed. Beautiful. At the end of the mouth, fragrances of honeysuckle, orange blossom and quetsches highlight the floral evolution of the taste palette. The retro-olfaction is honeyed (lavender), chocolate and exotic (ripe banana). The empty glass is intensely spicy, camphor, spicy and medicinal (tiger balm).
THE BRAND
The rums in the Plantation range come from the best distilleries in the Caribbean (Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama or Trinidad). The Plantation rum collection is divided into two distinct ranges, blends and vintages. Blends are blends refined by the cellar master of the Maison Ferrand. The vintages, whose tastes are different from one vintage to another, come directly from the cask and are available in limited quantities.
