Beenleigh is one of the most iconic and oldest distilleries in Australia, renowned for its rum production. Founded in 1884 in the Queensland region, Beenleigh is one of the few Australian distilleries specializing in rum, a sector still relatively limited in the country. The distillery has preserved artisanal craftsmanship over the decades, producing rums that combine tradition and innovation. It uses molasses from sugarcane, a high-quality raw material sourced from the Rocky Point Sugar Mill, one of the last privately-owned sugar mills still operating in Australia. This mill, located just a few kilometers from the distillery, is crucial for ensuring local and authentic production.
Beenleigh is particularly known for its white and amber rums, as well as its aged and extra-aged rums, often matured in oak barrels that previously contained spirits like bourbon, adding significant aromatic complexity. Beenleigh rums are appreciated by connoisseurs for their richness and depth, and the distillery has built an international reputation.
