Père Labat
Since 1863, the Poisson Distillery, located in Grand Bourg on the island of Marie-Galante, has been crafting an exceptional agricole rum: Père Labat.
This rum is named after Father Jean-Baptiste Labat, an 18th-century missionary monk renowned for his travel writings about the Caribbean and his technical innovations in distillation. His legacy lives on today through this iconic rum, a symbol of tradition and authenticity.
Made from pure sugarcane juice grown locally, Père Labat rum is carefully distilled using artisanal methods that preserve the full aromatic richness of the cane. Its powerful and elegant profile perfectly reflects the unique identity of Marie-Galante, known as the "island of a hundred mills."
Whether you’re discovering their white rums, aged varieties, or rarer editions, Père Labat proudly embodies the ancestral know-how of Guadeloupean rum makers.
