The brand was established in the early 20th century when the Mitchell family began purchasing high-quality whisky casks and marking them with a yellow spot to indicate that they were intended for extended aging. This marking system gave the brand its name.
Yellow Spot is produced by the Midleton distillery, one of the most renowned distilleries in Ireland.
