NEISSON Clos Godinot 52,5%

€43.00

Clos Godinot is the first single-plot agricultural rum crafted by Grégory Vernant. This plot, located in Le Carbet at an altitude of 245 meters with a 35-degree slope, benefits from significant temperature variations that allow for the harvest of high-sugar content sugarcane.

Extraverted yet displaying a refined classicism, Clos Godinot offers a highly skilled and contrasting aromatic and gustatory palette. Its rich and complex fruity notes at times evoke fruit eaux-de-vie, providing an irresistible experience.

Nose : Nez : Rich and velvety, with particularly fruity notes of cherry and blackcurrant, followed by original hints of sugar cane juice. Upon aeration, fragrances of flowering sugar cane gradually emerge.

Palate: Elegant and refined, with a peppery attack. In the middle of the palate, heady flowers (geranium, carnation) compete in intensity with delightful flavors of white fruits (pear, mirabelle) and fresh sugar cane juice.

Finish: Long and pulpy, with a pleasantly fibrous texture of sugar cane. The aftertaste is airy and subtle, imbued with menthol notes from fresh sugar cane juice.

THE BRAND

Neisson, the smallest independent distillery in Martinique, was created in the commune of Carbet by the Neisson brothers in 1931, Adrien and Jean, who each had a very specific role. Adrien took care of operations. His brother Jean, an engineer by trade, was responsible for the transformation, and the installation in 1958 of their famous distillation column made of copper known as the Savalle column.

It was in 1995, that the Neisson distillery changed hands, Claudine Vernant Neisson, heir to this distillery, accompanied by her son, overhauled the running of it and within 3 years they had put it back on map. Their success continued to grow, and in 2013, the two innovators decided to produce organic agricultural rums, in perfect harmony with the surrounding ecosystem.
