The name Glenlivet, very popular by malt assemblers in the early 19th century attracted a large number of distillers who tried to attach it to their name. The distillery created in 1824 by Georges Smith, managed to keep the exclusive right.
Nose: Balanced, floral and vanilla notes with dried fruits.
Taste: Seductive. Aromas of vanilla, coconut and ripe fruit. Touch of orange marmalade.
Finish: Persistent, creamy, oaky and spicy. A touch of almond is felt.
The distillery, located in northern Scotland, was founded by George Smith in 1824, becoming the first distiller to obtain an official license. During this period of history, many distilleries have tried to copy its distillation methods. George Smith distills a very smooth and complex single malt, with a very long and very long palate.
