Glendronach 8 year is aged in the Highlands of Scotland, and matured in Bourbon and Sherry casks, hence its name "The Hielan".
The Glendronach distillery, created in 1826 by a union led by James ALLARDES, is located in the Deveron region. This distillery in which the single Malt will be aged exclusively in Sherry casks will make it its trademark and its uniqueness. However, it will be marked by many changes of owner, even going as far as closing in 1996. The Distillery will be then taken over in 2009 by the Benriach distillery.
This new recovery therefore makes it possible to now produce a peated single malt, leaving good prospects for the future.
Nose : Notes of caramel and malt.
Palate : Fruity, grapes, pear, and also caramelized.
Finish : Long aftertaste, slightly oaky.
The Glendronach Distillery is located on the edge of Speyside on the East Coast at Dronach Burn in the Deveron region. It was created by a union, led by James Allardice in 1826, having received the right to distill at the beginning of the 19th century thanks to the Duke of Gordon. The distillery has used the same distillation methods since the beginning of its activity, producing Single Malts aged in high quality sherry casks. Following numerous changes of ownership until it closed in 1996, until the owners of Benriach bought the Glendronach distillery in 2008, and thus started producing a peated single malt in small quantities.
