The expression "angels' share", which designates the volume of alcohol evaporated during aging in barrels, actually finds its origin on the island of Islay, in the village of Bowmore more precisely. Built on a circular plan in 1767, its church could not be penetrated by the devil, who always hides in the corners. For lack of refuge, the demon, pursued by the villagers, ran to take shelter in the cellars of a distillery. Discovering angels enjoying the precious nectar, he was forced to leave the island. A worthy representative of Scottish know-how, this whiskey has an intensely smoky profile, with lovely lemony and iodized notes. Bottled at 46%, it is made without chill filtration or colouring
Nose: Vegetal, smoked. Peat, wood fire, iodine.
Palate: Lively, earthy. Lemon, thyme, toasted marshmallow.
Finish: sweet. Roasted barley, ash.
