€120.00

Port Charlotte 2013 PMC 01 is a peated single malt from Islay, the 6th limited edition of the Cask Exploration Series. Aged for 4 years in bourbon casks and then 5 years in Pomerol casks, it is the first in the series to use these casks. With its notes of oak, generous fruit, and delicate peat, it pays homage to the vineyard and the Isle of Islay. The barley comes from 7 local farms, and Islay spring water is used in its production. Bottled at 54.5% without caramel or chill filtration.
An unforgettable peated single malt.

Nose: Warm notes of smoky peat and red fruits greet the senses, followed by scents of stewed pears, melon, and subtle maritime hints. A delicate floral bouquet of rose and geranium, enhanced by touches of vanilla, honey, leather, and toasted oak from the wood. Opening up further, a subtle spicy blend of cloves and ginger enriched with a hint of marzipan reveals itself.

Palate: Flavors of malt sugar and smoky peat complement the incredible smoothness of the drink on the palate. The influence of the cask persists, with its harmonious balance of oak, fruits, blackberries, prunes, and old leather.

Finish: The gentle marine scents and the aroma of crushed shells in this single malt, heightened by a hint of lemon and citrus, recall its aging entirely carried out in Islay, while the iconic smoky peat of Port Charlotte lingers on the palate.

THE BRAND

Bruichladdich is a whisky distillery built in 1881 by three brothers. It is located on the Isle of Islay on the west coast of Scotland. It is one of nine distilleries on the Isle Islay, but Bruichladdich is to date the only distillery to produce, age and bottle its malt on the island. Following its purchase in 2000, the Bruichladdich distillery was very carefully renovated, they managed to save almost all the original material dating from the 19th century. Its single malt is only very slightly peated, with distinct marine origins, an iodized scent and a palate of salty flavours. This distillery produces two specially peated versions : Port Charlotte and Octomore.
