THE BRAND
The Knockando Distillery was established in 1898 by John Thomson and is located near the River Spey, Scotland. It is known for producing a classic single malt with conical shaped stills for the first distillation and spherical shaped stills for the second distillation. Knockando whiskeys are always bottled in vintage versions. Knockando means "little black hill" in Scottish Gaelic. Under the name Master Reserve, this 21-year-old edition comes from a careful selection carried out in the heart of the Knockando reserves. This single malt is the result of a careful selection and a blend of three barrels selected by the director of the distillery Innes Shaw, for optimal aging.
THE BOTTLING
The Signatory trading house is not one of the oldest in Scotland, and yet it has managed to build a very good reputation among great malt connoisseurs. It is best known for its bottlings at barrel strength and without cold filtering, thus allowing the enthusiast to taste their whiskey in the most natural state possible. It also has a distillery.
