THE TREND
Glengyle is an independent family distillery based in Campbeltown. It produced whiskey from 1872 to 1925. Then after a 79-year hiatus, it was re-established by Mitchell'Glengyle LTD. The name Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic, 'Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain' which is the name of the original settlement where Saint Kieran had his religious cell. Glengyle now produces a range of Kilkerran Single Malt whiskies, all natural colored and unfiltered Cold. Every stage of production is carried out in Campbeltown. Crosshill Loch, located on a plateau of Beinn Ghuilean, supplies fresh water to the distillery. The barley is traditionally ground malted at sister distillery Springbank and then transferred to Glengyle. The whiskey is matured and bottled in Campbeltown. This single is produced in a limited series.
