The first a young whisky was matured for 12 months in Armagnac barrels, the was an 8 year old whisky matured for 6 monthsin Armagnac barrels. The result is a fresh, expressive whisky with a beautiful complexity that testifies to its maturity. This superb blended whisky has won numerous international awards.
Nose : Fresh, expressive with woody notes on vanilla and spices, then ripe and juicy fruits.
Palate : Notes of cereals, wood, spices then a hint of smoke with nutmeg and liquorice.
Finish : Delicate and persistent with woody notes and a hint of smoke.
The Black Mountain brand began in 2011, creating award-winning blended whiskies which then inspired the plans for a distillery on the borders of the Black Mountain in the Haut Languedoc regional natural park. During the construction of this distillery, they continue to assemble their imported blended whiskies, adjusting them with black mountain water, and refining in hand selecting barrels on site.
