EDDU Héritage 40% is a limited-edition Breton whisky created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Distillerie des Menhirs. This special release pays tribute to the vision of its founder, Guy Le Lay, by bringing together two iconic symbols of Brittany: buckwheat and apple.
Crafted from 100% buckwheat whisky, EDDU Héritage is initially matured for three years in French oak casks before undergoing a finishing period in casks that previously held Pommeau de Bretagne, a traditional Breton blend of cider spirit and apple must.
This unique maturation creates a rich and indulgent profile, combining orchard fruits, confectionery notes, and gentle spices. The result is an authentic whisky that perfectly expresses the heritage and craftsmanship of the Distillerie des Menhirs. Limited to 2,300 bottles, EDDU Héritage is a remarkable tribute to four decades of innovation.

Eddu is a Breton whisky created in 2002 by the Distillerie des Menhirs, located near Quimper. This whisky stands out for its use of buckwheat (sarrasin), a traditional Breton grain, instead of the usual barley. The production process combines artisanal methods with aging in oak barrels that previously contained regional wines or other spirits, imparting unique aromas of dried fruits, hazelnuts, and spices to the whisky. This innovative whisky quickly gained popularity for its distinctive flavor and artisanal quality.
