Kilchoman 14 Year Old Family Collection Rockside Ex-Bourbon Barrels is a unique limited release. The Family Collection celebrates the family spirit at the heart of Kilchoman through an exclusive series of four single malts. For this inaugural edition, each member of the Wills family selected exceptional casks from some of the distillery’s rarest stocks, choosing whiskies that reflect their individual preferences and personal interpretation of the Kilchoman style. The resulting bottlings, aged 11, 14, 18 and 20 years, showcase both the influence of time and the impact of bourbon and sherry cask maturation on the whisky’s character.
This 14-year-old expression, part of the Rockside Barley range, is crafted exclusively from barley grown and malted on the Kilchoman farm, highlighting the distinctive terroir of the distillery. Matured entirely in bourbon barrels for fourteen years, it offers an exceptional balance of freshness, richness and character. Its long maturation enhances notes of citrus fruits, orchard fruits and creamy vanilla, while preserving the elegant coastal peat smoke that defines Kilchoman’s signature style.

Nose: Bright notes of lemon zest and green apple lead the way, complemented by hints of vanilla, honey and coconut, alongside aromas reminiscent of freshly baked shortbread.
Palate: Rich and creamy in texture, with orchard fruits combining harmoniously with sweet malt and delicate oak spices. As the whisky develops, Kilchoman's signature coastal peat smoke emerges, enhanced by a subtle saline character.
Finish: Long and elegant, revealing lingering notes of vanilla, citrus and delicate, refreshingly refined smoke.
KILCHOMAN was founded by Anthony Wills in June 2005. For over 124 years, no new distillery had been established on the island of Islay, on the west coast of Scotland. Supplied by the Port Ellen maltings, it now strives to grow around 20% of its barley on its own land. Although it is certainly one of the smallest distilleries on the island, KILCHOMAN already enjoys a prestigious maturity.
