TOGOUCHI Single Malt 43% - Japanese whisky

TOGOUCHI Single Malt 43%

€60.00

Togouchi Single Malt is a 100% Japanese expression, crafted by the Sakurao Distillery in Hiroshima Prefecture. This whisky is made from malted barley, distilled and aged in Japan, in a former railway tunnel converted into an underground cellar – a natural environment that offers a constant, ideal temperature for slow and controlled maturation.
Aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, Togouchi Single Malt reveals a delicate and harmonious aromatic profile. It delights with notes of fine wood, ripe yellow fruits, creamy vanilla, and a hint of gentle spice.

Nose: Soft and inviting, with aromas of vanilla, citrus zest, ripe yellow fruits (peach, apricot), fine wood and a floral hint.

Palate: Silky and balanced, offering notes of honey, light caramel, baked pear, and gentle spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), with a hint of hazelnut.

Finish: Long and elegant, with toasted oak, a gentle warmth, and a lasting freshness.

Togouchi is a Japanese whisky brand produced by the Sakurao Distillery (formerly Chugoku Jozo), located in Hiroshima Prefecture. While the distillation is now carried out in Japan, Togouchi initially built its reputation through carefully selected blends aged in a 361-meter-long disused railway tunnel, offering naturally stable conditions for maturation. This unique environment allows the whisky to develop a refined aromatic complexity, blending Japanese tradition with an eclectic style. Known for its subtle blended whiskies, the brand now also offers a fully Japanese single malt, reflecting its shift toward more local and craft-focused production.
