The Knockando distillery was founded in 1898 by John Thomson and is located near the Spey River in Scotland. It is known for producing a classic single malt with conical stills for the first distillation and spherical stills for the second distillation. Knockando whiskies are always bottled in vintage versions. Knockando means "small black hill" in Scottish Gaelic.
Under the name of Master Reserve, this 21-year-old edition is the result of a careful selection at the heart of Knockando’s reserves. This single malt is the result of a careful selection and an assembly of three barrels selected by the director of the Innes Shaw distillery, for optimal aging.
Established in 1898, Knockando is a historic distillery nestled in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside, a region famed for its elegant and fruity single malts. The name Knockando means “little black hill” in Gaelic, echoing the peaceful setting and the pure waters of the River Spey used in the whisky production.
Knockando is renowned for its vintage approach: each year’s production is bottled separately, without blending across vintages. This method offers remarkable transparency and highlights the natural variation of each year.
