Batch 5 of the La Palma Isla Bonita collection by Les Frères de la Côte is an exceptional rum, born from a collaboration with the Aldea distillery, located on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands. Distilled from naturally fermented pure sugarcane juice, this rum reflects traditional craftsmanship and an environmentally conscious approach. Aged for 15 years using the Solera method, it combines barrels that previously held bourbon and Spanish wine. This maturation took place under both the tropical climate of the Canaries and the continental climate of Europe, resulting in a rich and balanced aromatic profile.
In its final stage, the rum was finished in barrels that had housed the special La Favorite Navigation cuvée, previously treated with the Black Scale toasting technique, which enhances deep notes of vanilla and sweet spices.
Bottled at its natural strength, this rum is released as a limited and numbered edition, with only 1,020 bottles worldwide.

Nose: Complex and generous, the nose opens with intense notes of bourbon vanilla, toasted oak, and candied fruits, gradually evolving towards subtle hints of cane honey and aged leather.
Palate: The attack is full and warm, carried by a beautiful roundness. Deep aromas of dried fruits, sweet spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), and a touch of bitter cocoa unfold, enhanced by the richness of the oak.
Finish: Long and elegant, the finish leaves a lingering impression of blond tobacco, licorice, and smoked oak, with a delicate return of grilled vanilla.
L'Habitation La Favorite was founded in 1842 and is now one of the last two family-owned and independent distilleries in the Caribbean. In 1905, the estate was acquired by the Dormoy family, who modernized the distillery with the installation of a steam engine, still in use today. The rums from the La Favorite distillery are made from pure sugarcane juice from the estate's plantations. The 60 hectares are entirely hand-harvested, following traditional Martinican methods. Expertise, authenticity, and respect for the environment are the core values of the brand.
