This single malt Linkwood 2012 Sherry Butt Picoty S.V. has been specially selected for us with the House of Whisky. Indeed The mythical distiilerie Linkwood has been able to impose its style through the ages with an approach on the fruit. This single cask (cask #6) from the Picoty group was distilled in 2012 and it has the particularity of having a sherry maturation giving it a certain complexity. The bottling was made at Signatory Vintage, famous for its bottling in cask crude and without cold filtering, allowing the amateur to taste his whisky in the most natural state possible.
Limited Series.
Nose: Charming and greedy. It offers an avalanche of white dried fruits associated with more floral aromas including acacia honey which brings roundness.
Palate: The power of the fruit gives way to a more floral aspect full of finesse counterbalancing this nose. Also vegetal notes bring structure to this mouth that will draw slightly more in the register of spice and wood.
Finish: Long and intense, it confirms the vegetal side with a slight aroma of liquorice.
Founded in 1821 by Peter Brown, the Linkwood whisky distillery is located in Elgin, Speyside, Scotland and has an idyllic setting. It started producing its whisky only from 1825. Since 1992, the distillery belongs to the Diageo group. Linkwood is part of the aristocracy of distilleries because its whiskies are able to age for a long time and pair with all types of barrels.
