THE BRAND
The Hautefeuille distillery is located in the heart of Picardy, on the family estate, which has been operated by the Hautefeuille family for ten generations. In 2014, Étienne d’Hautefeuille, an engineer with an atypical background, took over the management of the farm. He aimed to distill gin and whisky using barley grown on his lands in Beaucourt-en-Santerre. In 2017, he decided to create his own distillery and partnered with a wine merchant he had met in Paris during his previous job. Together, they brought to life a whisky made from the farm's barley. Everything is done "in-house," from the cultivation of barley sown on the family lands to the production of malt carried out by a local maltster, and aging in barrels predominantly made in France. The still, also made in France, allows for the production of spirits that highlight the Picard terroir while avoiding double distillation.
