Nose: Dominated by sweet spices and a slight dryness.
Palate: An impression of sweetness gives way to a drier finish. Warm, light and velvety, full of tenderness. The aromatic universe is marked by cereals (malt and oats), fresh fruits as well as some spicy and floral touches.
Finish: Fairly dry. Pears and butter biscuits, then delicately and gently spiced. A few notes of anise seed linger.
THE BRAND
The singleton of Dufftown was born in the region of Speyside, the cradle of distillation in Scotland. An old mill was converted into a malt whiskey distillery by the Dufftown-Glenlivet Distillery company in 1896. It became the property of the Diageo group. By selecting the best local source for its production, the choices of aging in a high proportion of ex-Sherry oak barrels, (bringing depth and intense aromas of fruit and sweet spices) of the meticulousness of the fermentation in make a rich, unctuous single malt, superb to taste.
