The Brugal family who arrived in the Dominican Republic in 1868 were the first family to age their rums in barrels. Since 1888 they have been developing rums made from local cane molasses. The selection of barrels is meticulous, allowing them to produce an excellent, fine and delicious rum.

Brugal is a rum brand founded in 1888 by Don Andrés Brugal in the Dominican Republic. Originally from Cuba, he chose Puerto Plata to establish his distillery, using traditional distillation methods and aging the rum in oak barrels.
