HAUTEFEUILLE Single Farm Finement Tourbé 43.3%
HAUTEFEUILLE Single Malt Esquisse Finely Peated is a French artisanal whisky that embodies the elegance and finesse of local distillation. Sourced from a single farm and produced with a short supply chain, this whisky reflects the terroir of the Hauts-de-France region, offering a unique experience with every sip. It stands out for its light peat, which gives it a unique character without overshadowing the softness and richness of its aromas.
Limited edition.
Nose: Cereal and diffuse smoke, with notes of game, undergrowth, and leather.
Palate: Rich and soft smoke. Iodized, with an oily texture that envelops the mouth, followed by a fine and delicate peat.
Finish: Peaty and fresh. A beautiful balance between the roundness of the malt and the finesse of the peat. The retro-olfaction is full of subtlety.
THE BRAND
The Hautefeuille distillery is located in the heart of Picardy, on the family estate, which has been operated by the Hautefeuille family for ten generations. In 2014, Étienne d’Hautefeuille, an engineer with a unique career path, took over the management of the farm. His ambition was to distill gin and whisky using barley grown on his land in Beaucourt-en-Santerre. In 2017, he decided to create his own distillery and partnered with a wine merchant he met in Paris during his previous job. Together, they brought to life a whisky made from the farm's barley. Everything is done "in-house," from the cultivation of barley sown on the family lands to malt production by a local malting company, and the aging process in casks predominantly made in France.
The still, also made in France, allows them to produce spirits that highlight the Picardy terroir while avoiding double distillation.
