Isle of Raasay Dun Cana 52%
Isle of Raasay Dun Cana is a Scottish single malt whisky, distilled on the Isle of Raasay, located off the west coast of Scotland. This unique whisky pays homage to the island's powerful volcanic mountains, Dun Cana. Carefully distilled by combining peated and unpeated distillate, it is then matured in a combination of American oak and red wine casks, imparting richness and aromatic complexity. At 52% ABV, it delivers an intense and refined tasting experience, perfect for whisky enthusiasts seeking deep and nuanced flavors. This is an annual release in limited edition, with each edition offering slight variations in cask composition or age.
Nose: Rich aromas of gentle peat and subtle smokiness, accompanied by ripe red fruits and a light influence of vanilla from American oak barrels.
Palate: Rich and velvety. The peat flavors blend harmoniously with nuances of red berries, dark chocolate, and dried fruits. A slight spicy touch of oak completes this complex palate.
Finish: Long and warming, characterized by persistent notes of gentle peat, jammy red fruits, and dark chocolate. A hint of toasted oak leaves a subtle yet satisfying impression that lingers.
THE BRAND
The Isle of Harris Distillery was born from a simple idea: to support a declining island community. Since its establishment in 2015, it has become a major employer on the island, with over 50 permanent staff. Nestled in the heart of the Isle of Harris, it embodies the hospitality of the Outer Hebrides and shares the island's unique character with the world. It is the result of the vision of Anderson 'Burr' Bakewell, a man deeply connected to Harris and its future.
