KILCHOMAN Batch Strength 57%
Kilchoman Batch Strength is a peated whisky aged in Oloroso sherry casks, toasted red wine barrels, and bourbon barrels. After maturation, it is adjusted to 57% abv with a few drops of water, creating a perfect balance between peat smoke, citrus, dark fruits, rich spices, and salted caramel. This new permanent edition, designed by Anthony Wills, founder of Kilchoman, joins Machir Bay and Sanaig in the range. Batch Strength combines power and complex flavors through an innovative mix of barrels, offering an intense and elegant flavor profile.
Nose: A vibrant start with red fruits and cherries, blended with the subtle sweetness of heather flowers and intense peat smoke, creating a complex and welcoming aroma.
Palate: A rich blend of caramel and spices, with hints of creamy vanilla, wrapped in persistent peat smoke for a deep and memorable tasting experience.
Finish: The silky texture evokes buttered and honeyed crumpets, leaving a warm and lasting aftertaste that invites further gustatory exploration.
THE BRAND
KILCHOMAN was founded by Anthony Wills in June 2005. It was the first new distillery to be built on the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland in over 124 years. Powered by the Port Ellen maltings, it today prides itself on sourcing about 20% of the barley used in its products from its own lands. Undoubtedly one of the smallest distilleries on the island, it already boasts a prestigious maturity.
