ARRAN 27 yo 1995 Sherry Hogshead Single Cask New Vibrations 49.80%
The Arran 27 Year Old Single Malt, produced in 1995, transports us through twenty-seven years of a history rich in captivating bottlings. With a refined complexity, it offers an aromatic and taste palette that rigorously explores the rugged landscapes of the largest island in the Firth of Clyde. An authentic and natural whiskey that reveals the pure beauty of its terroir.
Every year, La Maison du Whisky reveals its Creation catalog, containing a selection of spirits. Named New Vibrations, the 2024 catalog highlights innovation and experimentation in the world of spirits.
Nose: Elegant, powdery, honeyed, saffron, fruity and floral with remarkable fullness. Accents of wax and rice pudding are revealed upon aeration, creating an aromatic palette radiant with maturity and freshness.
Taste: Rich, complex, somewhere between rooty, gourmand, spicy and exotic. An attack on the palate that rises, evoking a bucolic landscape of pastures, fields of barley and coniferous forests when aerated.
Finish: Long and distinguished, animated by the energy of cloves and nutmeg. The aftertaste explores unctuously malty regions to gradually evolve towards vanilla, saline and menthol notes.
THE BRAND
Arran, distinguished by its refinements in a wide variety of barrels that have contained wine (from Champagne, Margaux or Marsala), but also eaux-de-vie (cognac, calvados). The distillery also has the particularity of producing whisky made from forgotten barley varieties, as well as a series of vintage single casks often bottled in the cask. Produced on an island to the west of the Scottish mainland, its style resembles that of a Highland whisky.
