The OBAN 11 Year Old Single Malt is a collector's whiskey from the Special Release 2023 series. A bright and lively single malt, which retains the fusion of Highland and Island styles that define the character of the distillery, while skillfully blending the passions and the bright colors of a rum barrel finish. A cacophony of vibrant flavors with hints of tropical fruit and whispers of exotic sea air.
Nose: Soft and lively with slightly iodized notes with lemony citrus notes, enhanced by tropical notes from the rum maturing barrels.
Taste: Soft, fruity, sweet with citrus fruits, slightly salty, faithful to the character of the distillery.
Finish: Short, spicy and refreshing.
THE BRAND
Oban and its a perfectly sheltered port, are the capital of the West Highlands but also the natural link between the mainland and the islands. Founded in 1794, the Oban distillery was built by the Stevenson brothers and redeveloped in the 1890s, it remains one of the oldest and smallest distilleries in Scotland. Due to the cramped space available between the cliffs and the sea, the active little town of Oban has remained nestled around its distillery. This natural limitation to its expansion explains why the distillery has always struggled to meet ever-increasing demand.
