ARDMORE 12-Year-Old Seyton Macbeth Act One Elixir 52.5%
The Ardmore 12-year-old Seyton Macbeth Act One Elixir is a fresh and herbaceous single malt whisky inspired by Seyton, the loyal armorer of Macbeth. The maturation in former Islay whisky casks subtly adds smoky notes to the distinctive mineral profile of Ardmore's peated single malts.
Livingstone and Elixir Distillers present to you the first act of the Macbeth range, a true homage to the play written by William Shakespeare in 1606. This first act comprises nine elixirs that will keep you patiently waiting for the following four acts, making a total of 42 whiskies.
Each whisky in this series is based on the profiles of Macbeth's characters, with labels illustrated by the legendary Sir Quentin Blake.
Nose: Minty and resinous. Peppermint, dark chocolate, cedar.
Palate: Mineral and smoky. Fleur de sel, flint, sage.
Finish: Long and mineral. Fir tree, smoke, mint.
THE BRAND
The Ardmore distillery is located at the highest point of the Northern Highlands railway, 600 feet from sea level, near the small village of Kennethmont. It was created in 1897, and has a character that is described as ambiguous because blindly it is closer to the islands than to the mainland.
THE BOTTLING
The trading house Signatory is not one of the oldest in Scotland, yet it has managed to build a very good reputation among the great malt connoisseurs. It is best known for its bottling in cask crude and without cold filtering, allowing the amateur to taste his whisky in the most natural state possible. It also has a distillery.
