Glenmorangie The Cadboll Estate 15 Year Old is the third release, and it starts in the distillery's barley fields located on the Cadboll estate. With notes of nuts and sweet spices in mind, Dr. Bill selected a spirit created from two distinct barley crops and aged it in American oak bourbon casks to enhance those creamy depths. . Then, imagining notes of hazelnut, caramel and clove, he finished a small portion in casks that once contained Amontillado, his favorite style of sherry.
Limited series.
Nose: Fragrant, with hints of honey, hazelnuts, tangerines and soft, sweet caramel.
Palate: Slightly spicy leads to an explosion of sweet and spicy flavors - heather honey, gingerbread, hazelnut praline, fudge, caramel and a touch of clove. The nutty flavor derived from the Amontillado cask is still present, but still delicately integrated with other milder flavors.
Finish: Creamy and spicy, with notes of gingerbread, hazelnuts and caramel.
Glenmorangie is a Scottish distillery located in the Highland region. In 1887, the Glenmorangie Distillery Company Ltd was founded. The distillery was later bought by Macdonald & Muir in 1918. It remained the property of the Macdonald family for 90 years and was finally bought by the LVMH group in 2004. Glenmorangie is a distillery that produces single malts.
