LAPHROAIG 10 ans Sherry OAK 48%
Laphroaig 10 years old is one of the must-haves on the Isle of Islay. With a sherry cask finish, the peat generously welcomes the sherry. WE find an unforgettable whiskey with a rich character, where notes of Manuka honey, grilled bacon, seaweed peat smoke are superimposed.
Nose: Medicinal notes of peat smoke and Manuka honey with strong cloves, leather, iodine and smoked bacon.
Mouth: Sweet and aromatic with rich waxy notes. Followed by caramel, maple syrup, dark chocolate, pine needle and cedar.
Finish: Lingering sweetness and steaming peat smoke with nutty notes and a hint of brine.
The Laphroaig distillery uses small stills, 3 of which have an onion shape and 4 a conical shape. For lain Handerson, who was the director of this ancestral and magnificent Distillery of Islay, the character of the future whisky is forged during the first distillation, and it is during this first distillation that this single malt Laphroaig, has such an exuberant and singular character, with fruity, peaty and iodine notes. The Laphroaig distillery was founded in 1815 by brothers Donald and Alec Johnston.
