Gladstone Ax Black Ax whiskey is made from 100% malted barley and aged in oak barrels. The Black Ax is made from a selection of malt whiskeys from 14 different malt distilleries in the Highlands and Islay. What separates Black Ax from American Oak is a higher percentage of Islay whiskey which is smokier and spicier in nature. The marriage of these different whiskeys creates a delicious flavor profile that can be enjoyed by Scotch lovers new and old.

Palate: Spicy with pronounced notes of oak, hints of caramel, honey and red apples and a hint of citrus.

THE BRAND
The Gladstone Ax is a new brand of Scotch whiskey from American spirits company Biggar and Leith. The whiskey was inspired by William Gladstone, a titan of British politics who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom four times. Elwyn Gladstone, founder of Biggar and Leith, is William's great-great-great-grandson. Gladstone Ax whiskeys are made from 100% malted barley and aged in oak barrels in Scotland. THEY take a selection of malt whiskeys from 14 different Highland and Islay distilleries and blend them to create the first two Gladstone Ax Blended Malts.
