GlenAllachie - Future Edition - Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Edition - 4 years - 60,2%
Glenallachie 4 Year Old Future Edition was bottled in celebration of master distiller Billy Walker's long career. It is the first of a future series. This expression has benefited from a long fermentation of 160 hours, then aging in rye and bourbon barrels, and virgin oak barrels. Crafted with continental peat, this amber-hued spirit offers a distinctly smoky yet smooth flavor profile, brimming with sweet cinnamon apples and smoky oak. It was bottled cask strength.
Limited series.
Nose: Brimming with honey, dried fruit and hazelnut, with notes of smoky oak, dark chocolate and warm cinnamon apples.
Palate: Aromas of stewed pears with cinnamon, toasted almonds, heather honey and pipe tobacco, followed by smoked barley, vanilla caramel and orchard fruits.
Finish: Long, intense, rich.
THE BRAND
In 1967, the Glenallachie Distillery was the fourth distillery designed by William-Delme Evans and built by Mackinlay McPherson. In 2017 Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson purchased the distillery bringing a 100 years of knowledge and expertise to the industry. The water for the distillery comes from dam heads located 2 miles from the distillery. As one of the few independent distilleries in Scotland, it was crowned the winner of the Scottish Distillery of the Year award in 2019 at the Scottish Whisky Awards.
