Ardmore is a distillery located between Speyside and the Highlands in Stoland which was founded in 1897 by William Teacher, son of a Glasgow assembler. Ardmore means "great height" in Scottish Gaelic. Today, the brand has 8 steam-heated stills, although Ardmore was one of the last distilleries to use charcoal. It uses 80% peated malt and 20% unpeated malt to produce its whiskies.
