Fettercairn 16-year-old is a Highland single malt. It has been aged for 16 years in different Oloroso Sherry barrels of first and second filling but also in very rare Palo Cortabo barrels of first filling. Still with precision, the distillery through its unique process of distillation by cooling rings reveals a single malt with complex nuances
Nose: Note of sweet almonds, with wood, dried fruits.
Taste: Fruity, with rich notes of citrus, apricots, sultanas, a touch of coffee, cocoa, liquorice.
Finish: Aromas caramel, salty butter, sandalwood.
The distillery was opened in 1824 by its founder Sir Alexandre Ramsay. A true symbol of Scotland, Fettercairn is the second distillery in the country to have obtained a distillation license in 1824. It is with this heritage that Fettercairn returns to the forefront with this revisited single malt that will delight beginners and amateurs alike. In a new setting, this whisky will approach a fine and fruity style where subtlety will be at the service of balance.
