This very special Bourbon is unique because it undergoes a double maturation, aged in burnt white oak barrels, and then in new oak barrels which bring out in a very pronounced way the natural juices of the wood. This unique process produces a Bourbon with a beautiful amber color, with notes of chocolate honey, apple hazelnut, and also spices, which make it an excellent Bourbon with an extremely complex and unique aromatic palette.
Nose : Notes of black fruits, caramel, chocolate and honey.
Palate : Vanilla, with hints of apple, spicy.
Finish : Creamy length and persistence with pronounced apple notes.
Located in the heart of Kentucky, this distillery was founded in 1812 by Elijah Pepper, one of the pioneers in the production of bourbon in the United States. Prohibition followed, and as for many distilleries so did their closure. In 1996, Brown-Forman, the Louisville distiller, decided to relaunch the brand, rebuilding the distillery on its original site and keeping its style and artisanal methods. Today the smallest distillery in Kentucky, it is also one of the most famous. In this legendary horse country, Woodford Reserve is the official bourbon whiskey of two legendary horse races, the Kentucky Derby and the Breeder's Cup.
