€84.00 VAT included

BALVENIE 14-year-old The Week of Peat, a Speyside single malt is a blend of traditional Balvenie flavors with delicate peat smoke. It has an exceptional character and is one of the first whiskies from The Balvenie Distillery to be made from 1% peated barley.

It was created when director Ian MILLAR obtained a batch of peat for the purpose of experimenting.

It is during the "Peak Week", when the artisans of Balvenie distill a cuvée of peated malt, that this whisky with a very different style is produced, rich in notes of honey, vanilla and citrus. Aged exclusively in American oak barrels for 14 years, it is characterized by a beautiful sweetness, with perfect balance.

Quantity

Nose: Floral, caramelied and honeyed notes, accompanied by a light peat smoke.

Palate: Velvety and balanced by peat smoke. Aromas of woody vanilla and honey.

Finish: Round and soft, with a nice balance between smoke, citrus, honey and bourbon vanilla.

THE BRAND

Built in 1892 by William Grant, The Balvenie Distillery is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that still grows its own barley. It uses traditional maltings on the ground. Surrounded by a team of "craftsmen" (boilermakers, coopers) the malt master David C. Stewart MBE manages the maturation process with a master hand. Each bottle of this single malt bears the handwritten number of the cask in which it has aged.
