BALVENIE 14 year The Week of Peat, a Speyside single malt is a blend of traditional Balvenie flavors with delicate peat smoke. It has an exceptional character and is one of the first whiskies from The Balvenie Distillery to be made from 1% peated barley.
It was created when director Ian MILLAR obtained a batch of peat for the purpose of experimenting.
It is during the "Peak Week", when the artisans of Balvenie distill a cuvée of peated malt, that this whisky with a very different style is produced, rich in notes of honey, vanilla and citrus. Aged exclusively in American oak barrels for 14 years, it is characterized by a beautiful sweetness, with perfect balance.
Nose : Floral, caramelied and honeyed notes, accompanied by a light peat smoke.
Palate : Veloutée et équilibrée par la fumée tourbée. Arômes de vanille boisée et de miel.
Finish : Ronde et douce, avec un bel équilibre entre la fumée, les agrumes, le miel et la vanille bourbon.
