KILCHOMAN Sanaig 46% 70 cl
The newest distillery in Islay, the Kilchoman distillery has become one of the most popular on the island. Kilchoman Sanaig is a single malt aged 70% in Sherry casks and 30% in Bourbon casks. This single malt is very peaty, and combines at the same time a perfect balance between peat smoke and the sweet side. This whisky has thus become the 2nd flagship reference of the distillery, which will delight the finest gourmets, taking its name "Sanaig" from a small cove located in the north of the island of Islay.
Nose: Notes of grapes, vanilla and pineapple.
Taste: Smooth and intense citrus, slightly peppery with toffee notes.
Finish: Very good balance between fruit, peat and roundness.
AWARDS
Best Single Malt Scotch Whisky. International Wine & Spirits Competition 2016 (IWSC).
THE BRAND
KILCHOMAN was founded by Anthony Wills in June 2005. For more than 124 years a new distillery had not seen the light of day on the island of Islay on the west coast of Scotland. Supplied by the Port Ellen malting plant, it now makes it a point of honor to bring around 20% of the barley grown on its own land. Undoubtedly one of the smallest distilleries on the island, but already endowed with a prestigious maturity.
