Nose: Sweet and sherry-forward. Opens with gentle spices like cinnamon and vanilla, complemented by dried fruit notes.
Palate: Smooth and malty. The sherry cask aging brings out fruity and spicy flavors, enhanced by subtle hints of chocolate with a touch of peat and tobacco.
Finish: Long and aromatic, featuring praline, vanilla, and ripe apricots.
THE BRAND
Founded in Speyside in 1896, Tamdhu Distillery began production the following year. Initially equipped with two stills, it doubled its capacity in 1972, and then to six in 1975 to meet growing demand. In 2010, the distillery closed, along with the last operational Saladin maltings in Scotland. Ian Macleod Distillers purchased Tamdhu in 2011, reopening it in 2012, bringing back Tamdhu 10 years old and Batch Strength single malts.
