LAGG Kilmory Edition 46%
Kilmory is the name of the county where the small village of Lagg is located, the birthplace of the distillery, which is why Arran Distillers chose to name its first permanent single malt after it. Produced from peated Concerto malted barley at 50 ppm and water sourced from the distillery's well, this single malt has been exclusively matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. The influence of peat, combined with the creamy and vanilla notes from the American oak, forms the backbone of this single malt. This expression is simply the embodiment of the LAGG style, focusing on the use of ex-bourbon casks with heavily peated spirit.

Nose: Vegetal and fruity. Heather smoke and charred citrus.
Palate: Smoky and fruity. The initial burst of fruit gives way to subtle wood smoke.
Finish: Persistent and full. Citrus and peat linger on the palate.
THE BRAND
For hundreds of years, to supplement their income, the small communities of Arran produced their own illicit spirits in homemade stills. The resulting whisky, known as "Arran Waters," was smuggled from Lagg and sold on the Scottish mainland.
Built in 2017, the distillery opened its doors in 2019. It boasts custom-designed stills that now proudly stand alongside the mash tun and four traditional wooden washbacks. The first middle cut of spirit was recorded at 2:35 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Rooted in age-old traditions with a fresh approach, there is no doubt that this whisky has a promising future.
