THE BRAND

The isolated Livet valley made it an ideal place for illicit distillation in 1822. It was there that George Smith the founder learned his craft away from customs officers and soldiers.  In 1824, after a change in legislation, George Smith was to obtain his licence and thus become the first legal distiller in the parish of Glenlivet.

Many years have passed, and the vision of the founder is pursued, breaking traditions, establishing new standards and moving things forward, selecting unique and exceptional barrels, finishes and liquids.

GLENLIVET

This distillery located in the north of Scotland was founded by George Smith in 1824, becoming the first distiller to obtain an official license. During this period of history, many distilleries tried to copy his method of distillation. George Smith distils a very sweet and complex single malt, with a long finish. It was in 1884 that he managed to obtain permission to call his whisky "The Glenlivet", whose name was inspired by the famous Livet Valley.
