In 1627, Barbados already established itself as the cradle of sugar cane cultivation and the first distillations. Produced as early as 1642, Barbadian rum became known on the old continent, which was quickly in great demand. One of the first documents using the word "Rum", dating from the mid-17th century, comes from the island. Legend has it that on their return to England, British sailors offered Barbados rum to prove that they had indeed crossed the Atlantic. Blends of rums distilled in column and pot still having aged five years in ex-bourbon barrels in the Caribbean and one year in Europe, this rum perfectly combines structure, lightness and depth.
