Nose: The nose is slightly mineral, with an immediately apparent peat smoke and a malty and cereal note.
Taste: Notes of orchard fruit, apple blossom and poached pear emerge, and peat smoke becomes more prominent on the palate in notes of campfire embers.
Finish: A long and smooth finish concludes this heavily peated whisky.
THE BRAND
Glengyle is an independent family distillery based in Campbeltown. It produced whiskey from 1872 to 1925. Then after a 79 year hiatus it was re-established by Mitchell'Glengyle LTD. The name Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic, 'Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain' which is the name of the original settlement where Saint Kieran had his religious cell. Glengyle now produces a range of Kilkerran Single Malt whiskies, all natural colored and unfiltered Cold. Every stage of production is carried out in Campbeltown. Crosshill Loch, located on a plateau in Beinn Ghuilean, supplies fresh water to the distillery. Barley is traditionally ground malted at sister distillery Springbank and then transferred to Glengyle. The whiskey is refined and bottled in Campbeltown. This single is produced in a limited series.

Every step of production takes place in Campbeltown, where the fresh water comes from Crosshill Loch, located on the Beinn Ghuilean plateau. The barley is traditionally malted on the floor at the sister distillery Springbank, then transferred to Glengyle for distillation. Finally, the whisky is aged and bottled in Campbeltown.
