THE BRAND
The Maleva estate located in Corsica on the Plaine Orientale, near Aléria, known for its fruit production, began to distill in the 90s. First plum eaux-de-vie then myrtle liqueurs, lemon and chestnut, all the typical Corsican fruits. In the 00s, the founder of the estate, Jean-Claude Venturini combined his skills with those of Dominique Sialelli, from the Pietra brewery to produce the first Corsican whisky. Keen to produce an authentic island whisky, they take advantage of the aromatic essences of the island, including the casks. Success was not long in coming, and their whiskies are now recognized internationally, but production remains limited in order to maintain quality.
