GLENALLACHIE 10 Year Old French Oak is a single malt that was first aged in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels before undergoing further maturation in French oak barrels (Quercus Robur), sourced from the Haute-Garonne region, for about 18 months. . The fine-grained wood was air-dried for 15 months before welcoming the spirit of GlenAllachie. The secondary maturation period added silky tannins, sweet spice and fruity notes to this delicious earthy single malt.

Quantity

Nose: Waves of orange peel, heather honey and sweet spices, followed by caramel, orchard fruits and mocha.

Palate: Layers of heather honey, mocha and brittle toffee, with grapefruit, cinnamon, earthy tannins.

Finish: Long, intense, with hints of ginger

THE BRAND

In 1967, the Glenallachie Distillery was the fourth distillery designed by William-Delme Evans and built by Mackinlay McPherson. In 2017 Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson purchased the distillery bringing a 100 years of knowledge and expertise to the industry. The water for the distillery comes from dam heads located 2 miles from the distillery. As one of the few independent distilleries in Scotland, it was crowned the winner of the Scottish Distillery of the Year award in 2019 at the Scottish Whisky Awards.
